Postcards From Sonoma Country

Why Do I Call It Sonoma Country?

This is Mike Cleary with a postcard from Sonoma Country. That’s right, I said country. And what a country it would make. If I was assigned the task of writing its National Anthem, for inspiration I would look to Sonoma Country’s dramatic coastline and pristine beaches, the Russian River, the awesome redwood groves, its rolling mountains and acres of farmland.

And, of course, Sonomans are a warm and friendly bunch. And they’re always ready to show off their world class wines and foods and their rich, rich history. It’s a country worth visiting, and the best news is Sonoma Country is just 35 miles north of San Francisco. No passport required, just your appetite for a good time. Cheers!

Did you know Sonoma Country is 1,604 square miles and has 76 miles of coastline on two coasts (including the San Pablo Bay)? And the Russian River’s winding path snakes 110 miles through the county. For more information on all there is to see in Sonoma Country, please click here.
